Proliferative and nonproliferative glomerulopathies prognostic importance of HIF-1 α, GLUT-2 and VEGF expressions

Abstract (EN)

In the progression of chronic kidney diseases, hipoksi is identified as main reason. In the light of this statement, we aimed to research the effects of HIF-1α, VEGF and GLUT-2 expressions, which are related to hipoksi, on treatments and prognosis. For the research, 78 patients has been collected which were consisted of 24 FSGS, 34 MPGN and 20 amiloidosis. Patients were categorized according to, the respond that they gave to the treatment in early(first three months), late(after three months) period and whether the patients go into the KBY in the first 12 months or not. HIF-1α, VEGF, and GLUT-2 immunohistochemical staining is performed to the kidney needle biopsies taken form the patients. In the early period, it was observed that tubuler HIF-1α (p<0.05) and rise in VEGF (p<0.001) affected the treatment positively, whereas in the late period (p<0.001 and p=0.01) affected the treatment negatively and escalated the KBY progression risk in first 12 months. Increase in glomeruler VEGF(p<0.05) affected the treatment positively however no significant effect was observed for the late period. Rise in Interstisyel VEGF and tubuler GLUT, had no significant effect on early period but had a adverse effect for late period(p=0.01 and p<0.001) and increase the risk of KBY progression. Increase in VEGF expression in the peritubuler capillary, resulted in positive effects both for early and late period and also cut down on the risk of KBY progression (p<0.001). As a result, it is observed that in the early period HIF-1α , VEGF and GLUT-2 expressions have a protective effect on the kidney.
