Özet (EN)

ABSTRACTThe effects of propylthiouracil on Tc-99m MIBI uptake on the thyroid and the hearttissues at acute phaseTc-99m MIBI (Tc-99 m 2-hexakis-methoxy-butyl-isonitrile ) is generally used formyocard perfusion imaging a radiopharmaceutic. During biodistribution experiments, ithas accumulation at the thyroid gland which has raised a question: Is it useable for thyroiddisease diagnosis. Hyperthyroidi is one of the most common problems in clinic. PTU(Propylthiouracil) is a common antithyroid agent which is used in patients ofhyperthyroidi. We have investigated the effects of Tc-99m MIBI up-take on the thyroidand the heart tissues who have recently hyperthyroidi diagnosed patients before and aftertreatment at term stabil PTU plasma levels. For this purpose anterior static imaging hasdone for 40 minutes after 20 mCi Tc-99m MIBI intravenous injection two times before andafterword treatment on 20 patients. The thyroids and the hearts images and they ROI?s (Regions of Interest) compared. The thyroids and the hearts changes of mean levels werenoted for every patients and mean of groups. There is no significant difference comparedof the thyroids and the hearts quantitation means before and after treatments (p=0,316 andp=0,44 respectively). There is no effects of PTU on Tc-99m MIBI uptake in the thyroid and the heart. Itcan be said that there is no need drug discontinued for Tc-99m MIBI uptake scintigraphy atthe acute phase according to this research.Key Words : Propylthiouracil, Tc-99m MIBI, Hyperthyroidi, Myocard, Scintigraphyii
