Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT AYFER TUNÇ IN THE CONTEXT OF PSYCHOANALYTIC LITERARY THEORY STORIES AND NOVELS Ayfer Tunç (1964- ), one of the women writers of post-1980 Turkish literature, is a writer who has produced works in many genres such as novels, stories, screenplays, autobiographical works and researches. Ayfer Tunç displays an innovative attitude by using different narrative techniques in almost all of her works. Ayfer Tunç has created works with a strong structure as well as works that vary in terms of content. Especially human psychology is dealt with in her works in a remarkable way. As she herself expresses, the main thing for her is human stories. In the subjective stories of the characters she creates in her works, many psychological situations such as traces of the past, childhood memories, traumas, etc. are discussed in detail. Therefore, Ayfer Tunç's works are very suitable to be evaluated and interpreted psychologically. When Sigmund Freud combined the psychoanalysis method, of which he was the founder, with literature, it led to the birth of the psychoanalyst literary theory. After Freud, many different perspectives were brought to this theory and new methods and approaches were added. In this thesis, Ayfer Tunç's stories and novels are analysed in line with the principles of classical psychoanalysis put forward by Freud. Ayfer Tunç's works are analysed within the framework of principles such as Oedipus complex, electra complex, dream concept, creative author effect reflected in the work, catharsis, id-ego-superego in the context of structural personality theory, ego defence mechanisms, sexuality theory, life and death instinct in the context of instinct theory. In the introduction part of this study, how Ayfer Tunç's works are handled in the context of psychoanalysis and literature is analysed. In the first part of the study, the birth and principles of psychoanalytic literary theory are mentioned. In the second part, the main principles of psychoanalysis are explained with examples. In the third part, Ayfer Tunç's stories and novels are analysed within the framework of psychoanalytic literary theory. In the conclusion section, the results of our study are evaluated. In the bibliography section, the sources we have utilised throughout our study are given. At the end of the study, there is an interview with Ayfer Tunç.
