The validation and reliability of the community integration scale for adults with psychiatric disorders (CİS-APP34) turkish form

This study was conducted as a methodological study to determine the validity and reliability of the Turkish form of the "Community Integration Scale for Adults with Psychiatric Disorders" developed to measure the level of community integration of adults with psychiatric disorders. Language and content validity of the scale were evaluated. The content validity index (CVI) was determined to be 0.98, and the necessary corrections were made to the scale and finalized. It was performed with 170 patients who were diagnosed with Gaziantep Şahinbey TRSM and Şehitkamil TRSM between June 2019 and October 2019 and who had any diagnosis of bipolar disorder. For the test-retest reliability, the second application was made to 30 people in the sample group with an interval of 20 days. From the validity analysis of the scale, expert opinion was consulted for scope validity, and factor analysis was performed for construct validity. As a result of the explanatory factor analysis, a five-factor structure emerged in parallel with the original scale and confirmatory factor analysis was performed accordingly. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the scale's fit indices (X2 / df: 2,013, RMSEA: 0,077, CFI: 0,96, GFI: 0,84, p: 0,000). For the reliability analysis of the scale, Cronbach Alpha Coefficient, Item-Total Score and test-retest correlation were examined. The Cronbach Alpha of the scale was found to be 0.92, the item total score correlation was high, and the test-retest correlation was 0.84. As a result, it was determined that the Community Integration Scale for Adults with Psychiatric Disorders is a valid and reliable tool for measuring the level of social integration of individuals with psychiatric disorders.
