Psychological counselor candida tes' trustworthiness attachment styles in context

This study was conducted to examine the attachment styles and trustworthiness levels of undergraduate students of guidance and psychological counseling program. The study was conducted in accordance with the relational screening model. The participants of the study consisted of 175 students, 142 female and 33 male, studying at Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University in the 2023-2024 academic year. In order to collect data in the study; "Three Dimensional Attachment Styles Scale" developed by Erzen (2016), "Rathus Assertiveness Inventory" adapted by Voltan (1980) and "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants in the research group were applied. The data obtained in the study were analyzed by means of "independent sample t test" and "one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA)" methods using SPSS 25.0 program. The results of the analysis revealed that there was a positive relationship between anxious/ambivalent attachment style and trustworthiness. There was no significant difference between the variables of gender, class, family economic status and perceived parental attitude and trustworthiness. Avoidant attachment of male participants was significantly higher than that of female participants.
