The relationship between the rumination levels of psychological counselors/guide teachers and their attitudes to sports activities (Elazığ province sample)

It is a fact that an individual has a negative emotional state due to repetitive thoughts in daily life, which is researched and thought to require treatment. Although the concept of rumination means mental rumination, it is called a pathology at the level of thought in terms of a person's mental health. Rumination levels are examined during the diagnosis phase of psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression. As a result of various research findings, it was thought that the importance of sports activities in changing the course of these disorders in a positive way could also change with sports activities in rumination levels, and it was aimed to determine the relationship between them. Knowing the rumination levels of Psychological Counselor/Guide teachers, who are one of the important representatives of mental health experts in the education community, and determining the relationship of their sports activities to this level are of great importance for the society. For this reason, this research aimed to examine the relationship levels between the Rumination Levels and Participation in Sportive Activities attitudes of Psychological Counselor/Guide Teachers working in schools in the city center of Elazığ. This research is a descriptive study and a scanning model will be used in its conduct. The population of the research consists of 220 Psychological Counselors/Guide Teachers working in public schools in Elazığ city center. It is planned to reach at least 60% of the population, male and female Psychological Counselors/guide teachers, who will participate in the research on a voluntary basis, working in public schools in Elazığ city center. Data will be collected using the "Personal Data Form" created by the researcher to obtain the personal information of the participants participating in the research, the "Rumination Response Scale" to examine their Rumination Levels, and the "Attitude Scale Towards Sports" to determine their attitudes towards participation in sporting events. After obtaining the data, percentages, distributions, arithmetic means and standard deviations will be determined with the SPSS22 statistical package program. With the data obtained, it will be decided whether the distribution is normal or not and then it will be decided to apply parametric or non-parametric tests.
