Abstract (EN)

The goal of this study is to examine the relation between psychological counselors' perceptions of cultural sensitivity and their attitudes towards Syrian refugees. The research was accomplished using the Scan model to describe an existing situation.The sample of the study consisted of 400 psychological counselors working in kindergarten, primary school ,secondary school , high school and Guidance Research Centers affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the central districts of Gaziantep province Şahinbey and Şehitkamil. In the study, Personal Information Form, Cultural Sensitivity Perceptions Scale and Attitude Scale towards Syrian Refugees were used.In the data analysis of the research, one-factor ANOVA and t-test were used for unrelated samples; and Pearson Simple Linear Correlation analyzes were used to examine the relationship between psychological counselors' perceptions of cultural sensitivity and their attitudes towards Syrian refugees. Research findings; it was revealed that female psychological counselors' attitudes towards refugees differ crucially from the attitudes of men, and as the cultural sensitivity perceptions of psychological counselors increased their negative attitudes towards Syrian refugees decreased.
