Development of psychological counseling and guidance services an instructional softwares

In this research, an instructional software on Psychological Counselingand Guidance Services is developed by the researcher and evaluatedaccording to the viewpoints of the students. The developed software intends togive information about the topic ?Motivation? for the students of senior class inhigh schools who are preparing for the ÖSS (University Entrance Exam) andsupplies the students with the tactics to increase motivation. Furthermore, itclarifies the self-confidence issue which is one of the basics of motivation andpresents tactics of improving self-confidence.It is tried to be found out if the software carries an educational quality inthe aspects of general, instructional and screen design.This research is carried out in two phases: In the first phase, aninstructional software is developed by Macromedia softwares. In the secondphase, the developed educational software is evaluated by the use of a generalscanning model under the title of three main fields with consisting of twenty-fiveitem-evaluation-forms and according to the view points of the students. Thesample of the research is formed via randomly chosen one hundred-twentystudents group who have been studying their final years at İskenderunAnatolian High School and İskenderun İbn-i Sina Anatolian High School inHatay-İskenderun.The findings of the research prove that the developed software hasqualifications in terms of general, instructional and screen design features.viKeywords: Computer Aided Instruction, Instructional Technology,Educational Software, Psychological Counseling and Guidance, Motivation.
