Investigation of the relationships between psychological needs, mindfulness and nomophobia

Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the relationship between psychological needs, mindfulness, and nomophobia has been examined. Nomophobia Scale, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale and New Psychological Needs Scale were used to collect data in the study. The data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22 program. The study group of the research consists of 380 university students. Structural equation modeling was used for hypothesis testing and confirmatory factor analysis. The results indicated that the relationship between mindfulness and nomophobia was negative and significant. A significant and positive relationship was found between the need for dominance and nomophobia. In addition, it was found that there is a significant and positive relationship between mindfulness and the need for success. The findings showed that as the mindfulness level of the university students increases, their nomophobia level decreases. On the other hand, as the need for dominance increases, the nomophobia level of the students increases.
