Aim: The aim of this study is to reveal the changes before and after puberty in the localization and expression of IL-1 family member interleukin-33 (IL-33) and its receptor ST2, which are among the molecular groups of cytokines. Material and Method: This study carried out in healthy male cats of different ages and breeds, brought to Dicle University Veterinary Faculty Polyclinic for castration. For this purpose, testicular tissues obtained from cats before and after puberty used. Tissues were fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin at +4ºC for 24 hours and paraffin blocks were obtained after routine tissue follow-up. Crossman's triple staining method was used the sections for general histological evaluation, and IL-33 and ST2 antibodies were applied for immunohistochemistry evaluation. Results: The testicular tissue of the juvenile was surrounded by a capsule of dense connective tissue (tunica albuginea) and dense blood vessels were observed. When the adult testicular tissue was examined, the seminiferous tubules had a luminal structure and the presence of cells in spermatogenic cell line in the seminiferous epithelial layer was observed. As a result of immunohistochemical staining, it was observed that IL-33 and its receptor ST2 were stained in cells of the seminiferous tubules and with varying intensities. Conclusion: This result suggests that IL-33 and its receptor ST2 may have functional roles in the developmental process in cats.
