Özet (EN)

SUMMARY Microprocessor Based PWM Signal Generation and Application to The Speed Control of a Brushless DC Motor The generation and control of pulse width modulated (PWM) signals using microcontrollers are studied in this thesis. PWM signals are used widely as triggering signals for control purposes in various systems. PWM techniques are preferabely used along with power electronic circuits elements such as thrystors, mosfets, power transistors, UJTs and similiar switchable devices in order to determine their conducting periods with a controller's point of view. The generation and control of PWM signals to be used in switchable power electronic circuits for the desired purposes are studied in detail. The main purpose of this study is to produce of signal of PWM and controlling. PWM signals produced and controlled using microcontrollers have been applied to generate the required phase pulses in order to drive and control the speed of a brushless direct current (dc) motor. Inverters and their modulation techniques using PWM methods have been also discussed. Besides the experimental realization, PWM signal generation and control processes are also modeled and simulated using computer programs. Key Words: Brushless DC Motor, Inverters, Microcontrollers, Pulse Width Modulation VI
