Abstract (EN)

Effects of LD50 values of pyriproxyfen and Bacillus thuringiensis applied singly and in mixture on malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione-s-transferase (GST), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), cytochrome P450 (Cyt P450) enzyme activities in hemolymph, midgut and fat body and total and differential hemocyte counts of fifth instar larvae of Galleria mellonella at 24, 48 and 72 hours were investigated. Effects of these insecticides on antioxidant and detoxification enzyme activities were changed depends on exposure time and differences of tissues. Exposure to pyriproxyfen and B. thuringiensis decreased total hemocyte counts at 24 hours whereas increased at 48 and 72 hours. Differential hemocyte counts which are prohemocytes, plasmotocytes, granulocytes, spherulocytes, eunocytoids were changed depends on exposure time and exposed to pyriproxyfen and B. thuringiensis. The results of present study revealed that pyriproxyfen and B. thuringiensis can result reactions of biochemical and physiological of G. mellonella. Also, it was determined that pyriproxyfen and B. thuringiensis effected immune defense system of larvae by the alterations in hemocyte numbers.
