Akademik dünyada toplumsal cinsiyet:Türkiye'de rektör kadınların mücadelesi üzerine bir araştırma

The percentage of women at senior administratif positions in academy is lower than the countries where the rates of women professors are even lower than Turkey. What is more, regardless of the distribution of the gender to the vertical segregation on the academy, it is one of the sectors where feminization took place according to the statistics. In the light of interviews conducted with women rectors in 2016, this research focuses on the reasons why women are not applying or being nominated for the senior administratif positions such as deanship, rectorship, etc. In order to do that, certain concepts and notions such as masculine domination, feminization of work force and glass ceiling have been referred.
