Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the novelism of the Egyptian writer Radwa Ashour, who lived between 1946 and 2014, was investigated. Novels are one of the literary genres based on narration and are the mirror of society. Novels also reflect the problems and expectations of society. Through the characters in the novels, the problems experienced by the individual and the society are embodied and thus people's expectations from life, social desires and demands are revealed. At the same time, novels are a tool for the formation of social consciousness, and they are the most intertwined with society in the field of literature. When Radwa Ashour's novels are analyzed, it is observed that he has a great ability to interpret the needs of the society. He is a writer who tried to reflect the social, cultural, political and economic problems of the society and the individual through his novels. Ashour, through his novels, emphasized that the repeating of history is a fact and emphasized that the same problems will occur again if no lessons are learned from history. It is seen that Ashour's novels appear as historical social realistic novels. The author sent a message by putting a note to history through his novels and at the same time tried to explain the social experiences of the period of the events mentioned in his novels. As a matter of fact, in his novels, he touched upon many themes that reveal historical and social reality such as freedom, homeland, immigration and drama. It is seen that Ashour has used many narrative techniques such as description, letter, flashback, dialogue and montage applied in modern novel art in his literary works very well. The author has successfully reflected the richness of Arab cultural heritage to his readers with the language and style he uses in his novels. The thesis consists of an introduction, two parts, and a conclusion.
