Abstract (EN)
Radiation is an energy type which always exists in the natural and we always live together with. While the natural radioactive elements (40K, 232Th, 238U, 226Ra) existing in soil, water, and air comprise of the natural radiation sources, electromagnetic radiation sources, which are commonly used in daily life, x and gama rays, which are used in medicine and industry, are important artificial radiation sources. Artificial radiation sources, which are used in medicine for the purpose of diagnosis and therapy, because both patients and radiology staff to be exposed to radiation after the applications. In this study, the environment radiation dose quantity in the Rontgen, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance, and Nuclear Medicine departments of Amasya Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Application and Research Hospital was measured through FLUKE (Victoreen ASM 900 Series Advanced Survey Meter) portable detector to determine the radiation release into the environment during the application. When the results of the conducted environment measurement were compared with the individual dose limitations identified based on the recommendations of ICRU, it was observed that they are far less than annual dose limitations (<50 mSv).
