Özet (EN)

Objective of this study is designing a test chamber for evaluating the performance of air conditioning system of railway vehicles according to related test standards and gaining the ideas about the design and performance of air conditioning system. Within the scope of this study, general information was gained about air conditioning systems, working principles and test methods. EN 14750-1 and 2 standards were inspected for the test conditions of railway air conditioning system and design conditions of test chamber. Test chamber components? capacities were calculated and designed for proividng the test conditions which are mentioned related standards and air conditioning system?s extreme working conditions. After the building test chamber, test conditions parameters were designated according to vehicle type and design conditions of air conditioning system. After all conditions were realized in the test chamber, air conditioning system which was mounted on the vehicle roof was tested. All test results were evaluated and decided to how much comfort parameters in EN 14750-1 were provided in the vehicle. In addition, performance of air conditioning system?s components was inspected according to test results. In conclusion, comfort parameters which were specified in the related standards and theoretical capacity and ideal working conditions of air conditioner components were achieved within the specified tolerances by test sample. Seperately, all test conditions which were specified in EN 14750-2 could be ralized except too expensive components (Wind tunnel, solar radiation) by test chamber which was designed in this study.
