Özet (EN)

Dyes used in the textile industry use a lot of water to stabilize. This causes pollution in the environment. Among these dyes, the dye that uses the most water is reactive dye. Using too much water causes significant environmental problems. The resulting problems create toxic effects and limit the amount of oxygen in the water. Many treatment methods have been developed to eliminate these problems. The photocatalytic oxidation process used in this work also decomposes organic pollutants into products such as CO2 and H2O. In this work, The color removal efficiency and total organic carbon (TOC) removal efficiency of Reactive Black 5 dyestuff were investigated. In the using system, air-fed photoreactor, TiO2 and ZnO photocatalysts and UV-C light source were used. In this work, change of parameters such as the effect of pH, TiO2 and ZnO catalyst amounts, initial concentration of dyestuff, air flow rate, temperature and mixing velocity were carried out to investigate the color removal and degradation yield. As a result, this work is thought to be an accumulation for heterogeneous photocatalytic degradation methods which will be applied in the treatment of colored wastewater which is a big problem in textile industry.
