Abstract (EN)

Counseling&Guidance services not only assist students for gaining certain kinds of academic, cognitional knowledge and skills but also help them in fostering their development in all relevant areas and in self-fulfilling. During the providing these services to students, teachers and school administrators play equally important role as school counselors. For this reason it is very crucial for the development of students to grasp the importance of those services and to implement written regulations deliberately.In this research, the level of to what extent school administrators and teachers determine school counselors? occupational expectations is examined. Later, sore advices are given in order to increase the affect of counseling&guidance services in schools and to enable those services to be implemented in the schools in accordance with the written aims of those services. The expectations of the school counselors evaluated in the study are determined defined duties of school counselors by Guidance Services regulations of National Education Ministry.In this research some resources related to determining meeting the expectations of school counselors working in primary schools were evaluated. Likewise, A questionnaire was developed in order to determine how the administrators affect the occupational expectations of school counselor and those questionnaires were delivered to school counselors who were working in Üsküdar and Ümraniye district.Statistical analyses of the results were prepared by using ?Statistical Pocket for Social Sciences? (SPSS). Counselors Expectations are evaluated by considering gender, the type of the institution they are working, work experience as year and the population of the schools they are working. The significant relationship was found between the School counselors? expectations and gender, the type of the institution, work experience as year, and the number of the population of the school they are working.Key Words: Administrators and Teachers, School Counselor, Occupational Expectations
