Özet (EN)

The distinctiveness of Hegel?s philosophy lies in the fact that it suggests a totality representing a whole order of thought and being while it conceives such totality also as development. In Hegel?s philosophy, totality is not an immediate unity but a unity with differences. The relations between these differences are internal dynamics of development of totality. The systematic character of Hegelian philosophy depends upon its dialectical logic which is able to pose the relation between differences not only in distinctive but also in unifying terms. The purpose of this thesis is to elaborate the contribution of Hegelian dialectic to conceptualization of modern sovereignty. In the development of Hegelian dialectic, the path extending from Kant to German idealism has fundamental importance. The problem which German idealism is essentially concerned with and for which Hegel argues to provide a final solution is how a rational explanation for unity of thought and being can be suggested. This attempt to give unity to thought and being turns in Hegel into a perspective that enables transcendence of duplication of political constitution as state and society. In Hegel, state as dialectical constitution reproduces itself through individual and social practices rather than imposing itself as an external and alien power to individuals and society. The originality of Hegelian philosophy lies in the fact that it discovers in dialectic the principle of internalization of transcendent sovereignty into social relations. This is also the discovery of the functioning principle of modern sovereignty, which is still in effect.
