Abstract (EN)

Residual material properties of an industrial building exposed to fire were investigated experimentally in this study. Fire site was divided five part according to visual observation. Site investigation was the first stage of this study and second stage was the laboratory works which were made on steel and concrete core samples taken from industrial building columns. Concrete core samples were tested for residual mechanical properties by compressive strength test. Petrographic examination of cores was made with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), XRD (X-ray Diffraction) and EDX (Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy) analysis. Reinforcement steel bars were investigated mechanically for tension strength. Mechanical and petrographic examination results were compared with the results in literature. Consequently, concrete lost mechanical, physical, and chemical properties with different deterioration ratios, and the possible temperature changes were between 100°C and 600°C in the industrial building during fire.
