Abstract (EN)

Images influence to the pictorial narrative. While visual images affect artist as an individual with memory codes, they also shape the attitude of the art. In the conventional art of painting, the images were transformed into vision on various pictorial surfaces and issued on the illuminated surface with introduction of advanced technology. In this way, creating of works in art the relation between image and code has been begin to be considered an appropriate expression language in art movements. In this study, image, code and memory concepts which are the most important signs of the art of are studied in four main sections. In the first chapter, the image is tried to be defined and the effect of the signs used in place of reality is investigated. In the second chapter, the relation between image and code is mentioned. The way of communication of painting language is the relationship between code and receiver and its functionality is being investigated in terms of meaning. The situation that indicates the different visual perception process behind the visible is examined with examples through the art of painting. In the third chapter, the operational process of memory, then the concepts of form and consciousness are defined and their usage in painting is investigated. The concept of memory has undergone various breaking points from cultural and technological developments to the present day. In this context, while moving through the visual formations over the memory, the perceptibility of the form in the picture and its triggering role of consciousness are mentioned. In the fourth chapter, the researcher's works related to image, code and memory in the pictorial narrative are included. Memory experiences in the art of painting and the formation of visual images encoded in this process are examined under two main parts. In the first main part, the pictures depicted on the relationship between image, memory and code with the technique determined by the method, and in the second main part, the images created by the researcher were reproduced with digital techniques.
