Abstract approach in the context of the image in the picture-space relationship

In the historical process, art has created a phenomenon that constantly updates and renews itself with the variables brought by life. It is possible to define the variables brought by life as social, political, scientific, economic and cultural, as well as as artist approaches. Artists' entering into new inquiries and changes in their forms of expression also lead to a change in their creation processes. Technological developments and the emergence of new ways of seeing have brought new searches and inquiries to the agenda. For example, the perception of space on the painting surface and concepts such as space, light and time were questioned differently from the previous ones. Cezanne's perception of nature as a sphere and cylinder and the problems he questioned brought new perspectives to the artists, and the foundations of modern art began to be laid. The fact that the objects are handled as they are intended to be reflected, not as they are, the form is reduced to the conceptual dimension, and the emotions dominate the painting have led to the beginning of the abstract and abstraction tendency in painting. The emotional states of the artists in the world of images met with the audience through works of art, and the audience created and interpreted their images with the knowledge and equipment they acquired within the framework of their own experiences. Color, light, front-back relations and stain-line created a perception of depth in the painting, enabling the painting's space to be read and created. While the unity of the image with the space is provided in the accompaniment of pictorial elements, the concept of space and image differs in each painting. In this thesis, the concept of image and space in abstraction painting has been mentioned, and examinations and evaluations have been carried out on art movements and artist works.
