In this research, it is aimed to discover the emotional state of the characters? in the texts and pictures illustrated in the children books for 3-6 years group published in 2001-2010 in Turkey. The study universe consisted of 752 books were chosen by ?an easily accessible case sampling? which is one of the non-random sampling methods from different publishers, authors and illustrators available on the market. The study sample consisted of 112 books were selected through a random numbers table from within the universe. In order to collect data, data collection forms;
