Abstract (EN)

One of the magazines published in the field of agriculture in the Ottoman State is the Illustrated agrıculture newspaper. The magazine, which started its publication life on 14 March 1905 was published every week on Thursdays. The magazine, published by the bookshop Mr. Karabet, also wrote various articles as the chief authors of Bursa Agriculture School Mr. Kalfayan and Halkalı Agriculture School Mr.Bakyan. Also, Ismail Rıfkı Director of Halkalı Agricultural School, Hüdaverdi, who studied gardening in Belgium, Mehmet Ali from Halkalı Agriculture School, İnstruction of Insectism of Thessaloniki Hamidi Agriculture School, Ihsan from School Agriculture, Mithat from military school of agriculture, Munis from military school of agriculture, Mustafa Nurettin from military school of agriculture, M.Nuri Director of military school of agriculture is among the writers of the newspaper. Apart from agriculture, the magazine also includes different subjects such as viticulture, floristry, gardening, silk making, beekeeping and poultry. The magazine, which was published as 12 pages from the frist copy, came out as 8 pages after the 35th copy. The magazine, which has been answered by the subscribers' questions as of its 41st copy, ended its publication life on 13 March 1906 with its 46th edition. In addition, this copy has been published in the directory of all 46 copies. In our study, firstly, the beginning of the press activities in the Ottoman State was mentioned. Utilizing the transcription the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archive documents and the Illustrated agriculture newspaper, care was taken to provide information about the Illıstrated agriculture newspaper. The issues mentioned in the Illustrated agriculture newspaper were evaluated under various headings. Whit this study, we aim to contribute to Ottoman press history researches.
