The relationship between the organizational commitment and motivation levels of guidance teachers in formal education institutions

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the organizational commitment and motivation of guidance teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools in Ankara. Descriptive and relational screening models were used in the study. The universe of the study consists of 1904 guidance teachers working in primary, secondary and high school levels in the central districts of Ankara between 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. The research covered all of the universe and no sampling was made. Of the 342 scales included in the application, 323 were evaluated. In this study, Organizational Commitment Scale developed by Balay (2000) and Vocational Motivation Scale developed by Yıldırım (2006) were used. In order to determine the level of organizational commitment and motivation of the counselors, frequency, mean and standard deviation values were examined. T test, ANOVA, Post-Hoc, Turkey HSD, Games Howel and Pearson Correlation Analysis were performed at the stage of data analysis. It was observed that the level of organizational commitment of the counselors was generally sel moderate in and the highest value among the sub-dimensions was the adaptation dimension of the lowest internalization. Professional motivation levels were found to be olduğ low tespit at the highest level, the highest psycho-social level and the economic sub-dimensions at the lowest level. It was examined whether the level of organizational commitment of the counselors varied according to demographic factors. According to gender, educational t-test, ANOVA analysis showed that school type and year of service were examined and no significant difference was observed. According to ANOVA analysis, a significant difference was observed in marital status variables according to age, t test. The motivation levels of the counselors did not show a significant difference according to the variables of gender, education level, type of school and year of service, and it was determined that there was a significant difference according to the marital status and age variables. According to the Pearson Correlation Test conducted in order to determine the relationship between the teachers' organizational commitment and motivation levels, a positive, moderate and significant relationship was found.
