Participating in decisions of teachers who work at state primary schools

In this study, it is aimed to determine the participating of teachers of state primary schools in decisions at the level of school, their perception as regards to their enthusiasm and to reveal whether it shows a meaningful difference according to their personal varieties.Data have been derived from the 324 teachers working in 53 different primary state schools in Bağcılar which form the universe of this work. The hypothesis ?The teachers working in the state primary school do not precisely participate in the decisions made at their schools.? is tested by applying a quad likert type ?taking part in decision making survey? with 27 items and 2 sections. Data have been derived after it was uploaded to the SPSS 13.0 Programme. In the evaluation part of the data derived from the surveys, some techniques such as arithmetic average, percentage, standard deviation, t-test and one way variant analysis have been used. Having analysed those data, it is tried to explain the relation between the teachers of state primary schools participating in decisions made at their schools and their enthusiasm. According to this, at the end of the research; the teachers demand to be more involved in the desicions made at their schools than they do now. It is found out that the teachers take ?a little? part in educational decisions and ?a very little? part in executive decisions, however they wish to take ?much more? part in executive decisions and ?a little? in educational decisions. It is determined that there is a meaningful difference between the teachers? participating in decisions made at their schools and their personal varieties as regards to their demand.Key words: Primary Schools, Teachers, Participating in Decisions, Making a Decision
