The research for analysing organizational commitment levels of the class teachers of the state primary schools in the county of Bağcılar

The purpose of this research was to set forth whether the organizational commitments of the primary school teachers change with respect to their gender, how long they have worked in the same school, a teacher training institution they graduated from, their educational background, their habitation, their marital status, whether they have a second job, whether they need a second job, and the monthly income of their family.We tried to define the organizational commitments by the aforementioned schools in a three-dimensional way (adaptation, identification, internalization). As data collection tool we used the ?Organizational Commitment Scale" developed by M. Refik Balay in order to determine the perceptions of the participants about these dimensions.The extent of the research is constituted by the teachers working in the county of Bağcılar, Istanbul. The research was made using random sampling among samples chosen arbitrarily. 187 surveys of 200 have been given back.The t- test and the unilateral variance analysis were used to analyze the data.According to the information obtained, significant correlations have been found between the organizational commitments of teachers and their gender, the fact they need a second job, and the monthly income. No significant correlation has been observed with variables like the time the teachers have worked at school, their marital status, the teacher training institution they graduated, their educational background and their habitation.Key Words: Organizational Commitment, ClassTeachers, Personal Specıficatıons
