Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is the determination of the opinions and suggestions of teachers working in public schools on the practices of selecting and appointing administrators. This research is a case study designed in qualitative research method. The sample of the study was determined by the maximum diversity sampling method, one of the qualitative research methods. The sample of this study consists of 20 volunteer teachers working in Antalya province Kumluca district. Teachers participating in the research work in different school types. When the demographic table is examined, it is seen that the branches of the participants also differ. The data were obtained by the researcher using the semi-structured questionnaire form, the "Regulation on Selection and Assignment of Directors for Educational Institutions Affiliated to the Ministry of National Education" and its annexes, being used an in-depth interview technique of 15-45 minutes. The interviews were recorded by the researcher, after obtaining permission from the participants before the interview. Theme analysis, one of the analysis techniques, was used to analyse the collected data. After the theme analysis, the participants' views on the determined themes were presented with descriptive analysis by being used direct quotations. The findings are shown in tables created to be an answer to each sub-problem. The results of the research contain findings that reflect the views of the teachers on the subject, these findings present the problems teachers have about the Manager Selection and Appointment System, their reflections on the educational environment and clues about how to solve these problems. As a result of the interviews with the teachers, it is seen that the most important problem in the manager selection and appointment system is the oral exam, namely the interview. The teachers think that the interviews are not objective. This situation reflects negatively on the school climate and decreases teacher motivation.
