Abstract (EN)
This research aims to determine the practical application level of impression management tactics which are used by public and private primary school managers in social life. The universe of research is 2167 teachers and 199 managers who are working in primary schools located at Sakarya city center. Sampling of the research includes 389 teachers and 199 managers. ?Personal Information Sheet? and ?Impression Management Tactics Scale? were filled by teachers and managers taking part in the research sampling. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) was used to analyze the datas gathered from research instruments. Average and standard deviation of replies given by teachers&managers working in private and public primary schools regarding usage frequency of impression management tactics were calculated. To understand the difference of impression management tactics usage due to school type, sex, branch of study and assignment, t-test was used. Besides, variance analysis (ANOVA) was used to determine the difference of impression management tactics usage due to job experience, age and last graduated school. In the following statements, datas gathered through this research can be found. Primary school managers really consider other managers? and teachers? impression about themselves. Managers usually use?exemplification? among impression management tactics and ?apology? among defensive impression management tactics. It has also found that used tactics differ by school type, sex, branch of study, job experience, age, last gradauation and official work.
