ivABSTRACTA RETROSPECTIVE STUDY: THE RESEARCH OF THE SEXUALHARRASSMENTS WHICH WERE REFLECTED ON THE ADANA POLICEDEPARTMENT BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 2001-2005Ayhan KARAYELMA Thesis, Department of Education SciencesSupervisor: Prof. Dr. Turan AKBAŞJuly-2006, 65 PagesThe purpose of this study is to examine the sexual harrassment incidents whichwere reflected on the Adana Police Department, acording to the charactistics ofpopulation, such as age, sex, educational level etc.In the research, 277 sexual harrassment incidents which were registrated by theAdana Police Department between the years of 2001-2005, have been examined. Thefrequency and the percentage analysis had been carried out in order to analyze all thedatas.In the conclusion of the research, it is observed that the people of all ages,regardless of educational level were subjected to sexual harrasment. But, individualsranges between the age of 7-18, mostly consist of students, have been encounteredmore frequently than the others. When the each individual have been investigated interms of the sex, it is seen that the males are encountered to the harrassment too but thefemales are more than them. It is observed that the sexual harrassment incidents havebeen occured more in the open spaces.Key Word: Sexual Harrassment
