Abstract (EN)
Objectives: This research was planned as a descriptive, correlational and methodological study to examine the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Revised Scale for Caregiving Self-Efficacy (RSCE). Methods: In this research, conducted between April 2019 and December 2019, family caregivers (n = 250) completed RSCE and demographic data collection form. The data were evaluated by the researchers using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. For the validity of the scale, the following were conducted: language equivalence, content /content validity, standard deviation, explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis. For the reliability of the scale, the following were conducted: calculation of internal consistency reliability coefficient, test re -test and item total analysis and ceiling and floor effects. Permission was obtained from Dokuz Eylul University Non-Interventional Research Ethics Committee to conduct the research (2019/01-04, 4379-GOA). Results: "Self-Efficacy for Obtaining Respite" subscale's Cronbach Alpha value was found to be a = 0.76; "Self-Efficacy for Responding to Disruptive Patient Behaviors" subscale was a = 0.82; "Self-Efficacy for Controlling Upsetting Thoughts" about Caregiving subscale was a = 0.96 and the whole scale alpha value was a = 0.82. "Self-Efficacy for Obtaining Respite" subscale's factor load was 0.37-0.94; "Self-Efficacy for Responding to Disruptive Patient Behaviors" subscale was 0.47-0.81 and "Self-Efficacy for Controlling Upsetting Thoughts" subscale was 0.83-0.97. Conclusions: RSCE is a valid and reliable tool is a scale that can be used in Turkish culture.
