Abstract (EN)

Recently, ultrasound is frequently used in medicine, for diagnostic and imaging aims. While sonic waves from ultrasound device propagate in a medium, interact with that medium, generating heat in the propagating medium. In this thesis, acoustic structure and thermal effect of high intensity ultrasonic wave propagation from Rhomboid and circular concave type HIFU transducers were investigated in water medium. A new theoretical model is developed for Rhomboid and HIFU type transducer using Comsol multiphysics software. Three different model for developed for HIFU transducers and theorical results are presented for each model. This theoretical results were compared with avaliable experimental results measured in physics department and TUBİTAK-UME laboratories. Good agreement is shown between the experimental and theoretical results and some future works are advised.
