Abstract (EN)
The political philosopy of Richard Rorty who is one of the important philosophers of American Philosophy is mentioned in this study. It consists an introduction and three chapters and a conclusion.In the first part of thesis, the link between political and philosophical side of his thought is examined by mentioning his anti-foundationalism that effects Rorty?s political philosophy. And, it is emphasized that Rorty?s politicall philosophy does not based on a foundationalist background.In the second part, sucb concep is like Contingency, Irony and Solidarity which are considered at center of Rorty?s political philosophy are explained and then his understanding of democracy and human rights which are revealed by these concepts are depicted.In the third part, by using of these explanations and descriptions, It is discussed about his community project or draft which consists of liberal and ironist people who re-depicts himself/herself continuosly, and which does not contain the idea of absolute truth, and waived request of combining public and private space.As a result, Rorty?s liberal society draft appears as an effective and controversial utopia which puts forward that the more we become familiar with lives of other people the more possibility of ignoring people who are in pain is so low.Key Words1.
