In the modern world, sometimes anecdotes are needed more because of the orientation towards city life. Especially in recent years, due to the increasing urbanization trend, the communication between people has become more rigid and harsh, and the jokes, humorous elements and allusions during the conversation have decreased due to the seriousness brought by official life. This situation is thought to be an important factor in increasing the importance of anecdotes in society. In this study, the subject of which is shaped around anecdotes, the texts of the anecdotes compiled from the province of Rize and accessed from various sources were examined and classified. In the study, the subject of which is shaped around anecdotes, the texts compiled from the province of Rize and accessed from various sources; It has been examined according to its structures, subjects, the region where it is performed, the type of anecdote in which it was developed and different forms of expression. In this context, no distinction was made between content-centered and type-centered classification in the classification of anecdotes; the combination of both classification types has been tried to be revealed. In this study, which is about jokes, it is aimed to reveal the sustainability of the fun side of human nature; It has been tried to draw attention to the intellectual personality of Rize in the narrow sense and the Black Sea people in the broad sense.
