The relationship between irrational romantic relationship beliefs, codependency and obsessive distrust

This research was conducted to examine the relationship between irrational attitudes, codependency and obsessive distrust in adult individuals who are currently in a romantic relationship or have been in a romantic relationship before. In addition, irrational romantic relationship beliefs, codependency, and obsessive distrust to be liked differ according to socio- demographic characteristics were examined. 379 adult individuals participated in the study. Socio-Demographic Information Form, Irrational Romantic Relationship Beliefs Inventory, Spann-Fischer Codependency Scale, and Obsessive Distrust İnventory were used as data collection tools in the research. Scanning model was used in the research. Independent Sample t-Test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation were used in the analysis of the data obtained as a result of the research. As a result of the study, a positive and statistically significant relationship wasfound between ırrational romantic relationship beliefs, codependency and obsessive distrust. There is a statistically significant positive relationship between codependency and obsessive distrust. A positive relationship was found between the total scores of codependency, the total scores obsessive distrust and the sub-dimensions of irrational beliefs in romantic relationships; excessive expectations, mind reading, use of social time, physical closeness, gender differences, thinking differently.
