Abstract (EN)

The primary aim of this research is to examine the relationships between perceived parental attitudes, levels of forgiveness, and relationship satisfaction among individuals in romantic relationships. The study was conducted with 163 couples from various provinces in Turkey, utilizing an online survey method. To ensure the participants' anonymity, each individual was asked to create a common pseudonym for themselves and their partner. Data were collected using a "Demographic Information Form", "Relationship Satisfaction Inventory", "the short form of EMBU (My Memories of Upbringing)" and "Heartland Forgiveness Scale". To determine whether perceived parental attitudes (emotional warmth, overprotection, rejection) and forgiveness levels (self, others, situations) predict relationship satisfaction, a Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was conducted. The results indicated that perceived emotional warmth from the father and self-forgiveness significantly predicted relationship satisfaction.
