Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between organizational commitment, job satisfaction and procrastination at work behaviors of school counselors. The study was conducted with 300 psychological counselors working in schools in different provinces (Adana, Istanbul, Şanlıurfa, Ankara, Aydın, Van, etc.) from all regions of Turkey. The data were collected by using 'Demographic Information Form', 'The Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ)', 'Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ)' and 'Procrastination at Work Scale (PAWS)'. When the results of the study were examined, it was shown that school counselors working for 10 or more years had lower job procrastination behaviors than those working for 0-5 years and 5-10 years. In addition, no significant difference was found when job procrastination behaviors were examined according to gender and school level. In addition, while there was a significant negative relationship between the participants' organizational commitment and procrastination at work behaviors, there was a significant negative relationship between their job satisfaction and procrastination at work behaviors. The results of the analysis conducted with the bootstrapping test showed that the indirect effect of organizational commitment on job procrastination behavior was significant (β = -.061, 95% CI [-.120 , -.006]), thus job satisfaction indirectly effected the relationship between organizational commitment and procrastination at work behavior. In other words, organizational commitment effects job satisfaction, and job satisfaction effects procrastination at work.
