Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ANTI MUTATED CITRULLINATED VIMENTINE AND OTHER DISEASE PARAMETERS IN DIAGNOSING PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS AND ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is chronic inflammatory diseases which is seen in the high frequency in society and impairing quality of life. Early diagnosis and treatment in this disease is very important because they causes serious morbidity and mortality. Studies regarding the diagnostic importance of antibodies against citrullinated vimentin (anti-MCV) in the RA and AS have received considerable attention in recent years. Because of this reason we designed this study to determine the relationship of anti-MCV levels and other disease parameters in the diagnosis of RA and AS. The study groups consisted of 30 RA, 30 AS patients and 30 healthy controls. Anti-MCV levels were measured with ELISA method in all three groups. ESR, CRP, anti-CCP, RF levels were measured also from patients NHP, HAQ scoring was used for disability measurement. While calculating DAS28 in patients with RA to determine the activation, in patients with AS BASDAI and BASFI were calculated. The relationship between anti-MCV levels of these parameters were investigated. Anti-MCV levels were statistically significant higher in RA and AS groups compared to the healthy control group. The levels of anti-MCV was no significant difference between RA and AS. Anti-MCV levels were positive 19 of 30 patients in RA, 16 of 30 patients in AS and 10 of 30 patients in healty controls. The sensitivity and spesifity of the anti –MCV antibody levels were 63,3% and 66.6% in RA patients, %53.3 and %66.6 in AS patients respectively. There was no relationship between the anti MCV levels and disease activation parameters such as ESR, CRP, anti-CCP, RF levels,DAS28, BASDAI and BASFI. In conclusion, we have considered that, anti-MCV can be used as a diagnostic marker of RA and AS, but in the use of disease activity and treatment management larger scale studies are required. Key words: Ankylosing Spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, anti-MCV.
