Abstract (EN)
İndividualized Nursing İnterventions Based on The Roy Adaptation Model's Effects on Recovery İn Alcohol Addicts. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of individualized nursing interventions based on Roy adaptation model on recovery in alcohol addicted individuals. Materials and Method: The experimental study with pre-test, post-test, experimental and control groups. A total of 64 individuals (33 controls, 31 experiments) who completed the one-week detoxification process and met the inclusion criteria of the study were included in the study. Data were collected using the Descriptive Information Form, Recovery Assessment Scale (RAS), WHOQOL-BREF (TR) Quality of Life scale short form and PENN Alcohol Craving Scale (PAAS). Individualized care was provided to the individuals in the experimental group and interventions were implemented in line with Roy Adaptation Model. Results: The mean age of the experimental group was 44.48 ± 8.4 and the control group was 44.9 ± 8.2. 90.3% of the experimental group and 90.9% of the control group were male. The number of divorced persons in both groups (41.9% in the experimental group, 39.6% in the control group) and most individuals (83.9% in the experiment, 78.8%) reported that they had children. The majority of patients are graguated from a primary school and has a job. A significant proportion of both groups lived in the metropolitan area and evaluated socioeconomic status at a moderate level. The first age of usage alcohol was found in 19.77±4.98 in experimental group, 20.24±3.66 in control group. The mean age of intensive alcohol use of the participants was 33.29 ± 5.94 in the experimental group and 33.72 ± 5.32 in the control group. The majority of the experimental and control groups had previously been treated and the reason for relapse was avoiding negative emotions and problems. It was found that the majority of the experimental and control group individuals had alcohol use in their families. There was no significant difference between the mean scores of ISS, WHOQOL-BREF (TR) and PAAS of the experimental and control groups before the intervention (p>0,05). The mean scores of RAS and WHOQOL-BREF (TR) after the intervention were significantly higher in the experimental group when compared to the control group. The mean scores of PAAS were significantly lower in the experimental group compared to the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: As a result, it was determined that individualized nursing interventions based on Roy Adaptation Model increase the recovery and quality of life of individuals and decrease the levels of craving.
