The economic analysis of producing hydrogen with the help of wind power plants

Conventional energy sources will be exhausted in the future according to increasing theconsumption of the energy. It is a truth that proved with scientific datas. In addition, with theincreasing population and energy request, the emission values of the world have not beenpossible to be in today s limits. It is known that global warming and sea level will increase ifthis pollution continues. For this reason, renewable energy sources are used and suggested forproducing energy all arround the world today. These energy sources can be classified ashydroelectric energy, wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, biomass ve hydrogenenergy.Hydrogen energy is known as a secondary energy source. Electric energy is needed to producehydrogen energy. For this, the energy which is produced by power plants especially on thepeak load time, can be used to produce hydrogen energy.In this research, with the electric energy which is produced by wind power plant has beenused in electrolysis system, gas hydrogen has been produced and calculated its costs. For thiswork is based on the annual energy values of 3 plants with wind turbines which are located inzmir-Çe me-Germiyanl village. According to produced electric energy, hydrogen amountwhich can be produced and unit electric energy cost with unit hydrogen energy cost values hasbeen performed. Moreover, in wind power plant, the energy will be produced due to thechanges of load factors and also hydrogen amount is determined and cost analysis has beenperformed.
