Determination of wind potential and analysis of wind energy with WAsPprogram

The use of wind energy from renewable energy sources has been rapid in recent years increase. Many countries in the world, domestic, continuous, without cost of raw materials, being a clean energy source, reducing dependence on the outside, rapidly for reasons such as the realization of wind energy. In the seminar, basic information about wind energy was given and the advantages and disadvantages of wind energy were discussed. The current state of wind energy in the world and in Turkey has been revealed. In this study, wind characteristics and wind energy potential of İzmir province in western Turkey were examined. For this purpose, wind energy data for 2016 - 2020 were obtained from İzmir State Meteorological Affairs General Directorate and based on this data, the wind energy potential of Izmir province was analyzed statistically.
