Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTControl is the most important aspect in wind turbines which increases energy output andreduces dynamic loads. In 70?s and 80?s classic control methods used in wind turbines. Thesemethods applied power and speed regulation in the name of control and they had not beensuccessful. These systems often had bandwidths large enough to destabilize low-dampedflexible modes leading to high dynamic load fatigue failures. Modern wind turbines arelarger, mounted on taller towers and more dynamically active. According to this, design ofthe control system is so important for wind turbine?s future work. New advanced controlapproaches must account in order to reduce structural dynamic loading and achieve the 20-25 year operational life.In this study it is aimed to introduce control system theory and methods. It is also objectedwind turbine components and different wind turbine applications. Keywords: Control, wind turbines and control theory, energy production by wind turbines
