Abstract (EN)

Literary works contain many elements that are effective on the social, economic and political order, and convey the economic conditions of the periods in which they were written. Especially in the novels, the conditions of that day are also described in the description of the subject, and the economic structure of the period in which the heroes lived can also be included in the plot. Novel writers reflect the economic characteristics of the period in their descriptions, relations and dialogues between the heroes, and at the same time, they can transfer the economic ideas of the thinkers they see as close to their novel fictions. It would not be wrong to think that the situation, which is revealed by the author's view of an event that is told in the integrity of the novel, has an economic meaning. Literary works emerge as a result of life in economics, affecting social life on the one hand, and social life on the other. In this study, it is focused on the interaction of economics and literature, and it is aimed to evaluate the novel called Clock Adjustment Institute, one of the important literary works of Turkish literature, through the ideas of Sabri Ülgener.
