Özet (EN)
Health is not only the absence of illness and disability, but also full physical, spiritual and social well-being (WHO). Health is often explained only by biological data and mortality-morbidity rates. Health cannot only be associated with disease and biological data, but also with social factors. the social development of the society and the environment (our quality of life) is directly affected by our health and well-being. therefore, studies focusing on the social determinants of health have been increasing in recent years. Social Determinants of Health (SDH) include social and economic variables that affect the health levels of an individual or society and use social inequality parameters such as gender, socioeconomic level, poverty, deprivation, and education level. SDH is a multi-dimensional concept. Developing a standardized measurement tool to identify these determinants will be beneficial for health care workers and structures that will develop health planning / policy. The aim of this study is to develop social and individual index that can show the relationship between health status and factors that make up the social determinants of health such as poverty and deprivation as a result of social inequalities. In this study, the index was developed on the basis of "poverty and deprivation for health" (PDH) with the help of variables containing social determinants by using official statistical data. Poverty and deprivation index for health was calculated on two separate indexes as individual data set (I-PDH) and household data set (H-PDH). Poverty and deprivation index for individual health and poverty and deprivation index for household health were calculated. The relationship between all subscales of the indexes and health was calculated by regression analysis. The relationships between different variables were evaluated in many dimensions by factor analysis. The significance of the correlations in the correlation matrix was investigated by Bartlett Sphericity Test and Kaiser Meyer Olkin criterion was used to determine the suitability of the sample for factor analysis. Logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the cumulative effects of independent variables on dependent variables. Reliability analyzes were performed for each scale to be formed from the variables in the equation and factor. Kuder & Richardson 20, 21 (KR20,21) and Cronbach Alpha methods were used to determine the internal consistency of the developed scales. In the analysis of the data obtained from the research, it was tested by using SPSS 20.0 package programs. According to results, many arguments such as property, education, gender, sanitation and income are effective in the relationship between health and poverty. Results show that health level deteriorates as age increases. And also, women have a higher level of bad health than men. PDH index which containing social parameters can be used to measure health and determine the health status of people. The results indicate that social parameters should be included in the indexes which can be used to compare the health development levels of the countries, and that the social indicators of the individual should be kept in the evaluation while evaluating the health status of the individuals. Key Words: Health, Poverty, Deprivation, Social Determinants of Health, Index
