Özet (EN)
This study was conducted as a cross-sectional descriptive study to determine the effect of occupational safety awareness of health workers on job satisfaction in Adıyaman Gölbaşı Public Hospital. The data were collected using socio-demographic characteristics, occupational safety awareness scale and Minnesota job satisfaction scale by observing 253 people who agreed to participate from 330 health workers working between 17 August and 14 December 2020. The evaluation of the data, the correlation and X² test in the SPSS package program were applied for the number and percentage values and statistical analysis, and p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. 54.9% of the health workers participating in the research are male and 66.8% are university graduates. 30.4% of the employees are in the nursing profession. 78.3% of the employees received occupational health and safety training. While 71.1% of the nurses are not satisfied with their workload and 87.7% of them are not satisfied with their wages, 86.2% of them state that they experience stress while working. While there was no significant difference between health workers' awareness of occupational safety and age, education, stress and OHS training (p>0.05); a significant relationship was found between the profession, the unit of work, colleagues, and relations with the manager (p<0.05). While there was no significant difference between the job satisfaction of the employees and their age, professional experience and relations with their colleagues (p>0.05); a significant relationship was found between gender, education, occupation, unit of work, having a work accident, satisfaction with wages, and experiencing stress (p<0.05). It was found that the mean occupational safety awareness score was 19.45±3.84 high, and the Minnesota job satisfaction mean score was 2.90±0.74 moderate. It was determined that there was a statistically significant, positive and poor relationship between the Minnesota job satisfaction scale and the Occupational Safety Awareness Scale (r: .408, p: .000, p<0,01). The job satisfaction of the employees should be evaluated periodically and trainings on occupational health and safety should be planned.
