Health workers health ethics perspective (Di̇yarbakir Gazi̇ Yaşargi̇l Training and Research Hospital sample)

Today, the ongoing studies related with ethic are not considered to be well done, and also the number of the related studies are not thought to be enough. In some of the studies done, it was realized that some of the healthcare workers are not educated well enough and informed enough about ethic. Our study is limited to three issues; what is the sensitivity for the subject of ethic, at what level the health workers are with regard to ethical education and what they think about ethic issue. In this study, the ethical information of the healthcare workers was measured and how the workers take action against the ethical problems when they encounter them was tried to be determined. A hospital which is operating in the status of public institution in the province of Diyarbakir was selected for the study. In this study , in order to obtain information, a questionnaire accepted to be at the international standard was used. This form includes the questions about their demographical information of the staff and about ethical issues that the staff encounter at the hospital daily. In our study, 300 health workers were tried to be attained. In conclusion, at the end of the investigation, it was determined that a huge portion of the hospital staff hadn't worked with ethics committees in the hospital or any other place until the study was done; therefore, they need a committee at their institutions, and they lack the information to realize the ethical problems in order to be aware of the unethical behaviors of the staff and ethical problems affected productivity of the staff adversely etc.. In addition, meaningful relationship factors were identified between the demographic characteristics of the respondents and the questions about the ethical issues. That is, we reached conclusion that some demographical characteristics can affect some behaviors about ethic.
