Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to evaluate the communication skills of physicians, nurses, midwives and other assistants working in the institutions that enable delivery of birth and to evaluate the communication skills of mothers who have given birth and the effects of communication skills on the satisfaction of mothers who give birth. For this purpose, face-to-face questionnaire study was carried out on communication skills and satisfaction with communication skills and communication with the mother who had 200 new births in Zeynep Kamil Women and Children's Diseases Education and Research Hospital, which serves in Üsküdar district of İstanbul province. As a result of the survey study, the quality of the mother communication skills of the newborns who had given birth was examined and communication between mother and health worker and mother and health worker were found to be high. It was found that the demographic characteristics of the employees did not show a significant difference in communication skills. The mean number of maternal communication skills and satisfaction scores was found to be high. Communication skills seem to increase the satisfaction level of mothers. It has been determined statistically that the demographic characteristics of newly born mothers do not show a significant difference on communication skills.
