Abstract (EN)
Besides having rights due to being human, sick individuals should have rights of patients? which is called patients rights. Patients rights are rights which should be adopted by patients and health personel together for beter health environment. The importance of advocacy lies in protecting the rights of patients will. Without advocacy, it is not possible to talk about effective protection of rights. Health team members have an important role on protection of patients? rights. With this research, it is aimed to assess the knowledge and attitudes on patients? rights of surgery patients and anesthesia applicable patients at Antalya Educational Research Hospital. In this research, the questionnaire form consists of 32 questions was applied to 422 patients. It is determined that the majority of patients who will have surgery did not have enough information about patient rights and patient rights units and have not enlightened enough by healh staff. The lack of defending the human rights in a conscious way and querying the service is a social and cultural problem of our community. Comprehensive efforts are needed to make patients? rights an important element in supporting of health services. Therefore, the studies which aim the training of patients and patient relatives and health staff are required for presenting the health services in accordance with patient satisfaction, human rights and dignity.Key Words1.
