Abstract (EN)

Health is an universal value and concept. Living a healthy life is a fundemental right of every individual. The health sector is growing constantly and renewing itself. Human needs are increasing in parallel with this development. In order to compete in the market, business organisations have to consider about customer satisfaction importantly. Today, the only way of patient satisfaction is to analyze the expectations of patients' and their relatives', to see the service expectations before to present the service that will satisfy them. For this reason to determine the factors influencing emergency service patient satisfaction, we prepared a survey study to apply in İzmir Bozyaka Research and Training Hospital Emergency Department. According to research data analysis results, attitudes and medical care experiences of doctors and nurses in charge at emergency service, keeping patients informed during the process and waiting time at emergency service are the major factors effecting patients' level of satisfaction. That the measurement of the level of patient satisfaction is required in order to define the deficiencies in the provision of health services and those policies designed for them. Patient satisfaction affects their subsequent behavior and shapes the patients' experience of health. Customer satisfaction is one of the indicators of service quality.
