Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study, identifying the issues causing waste in hospital establishments. Another purpose is, to develop a wider assessment waste method than two waste methods. Two waste assessment methods were used. The first method is, Hospital Inpatient Waste Identification Tool. Hospital Inpatient Waste Identification Tool includes service, discharge, care, diagnosis, and treatment. The second method is the seven wastage methods commonly used in lean service and production. The overall wastage rate determined by the Hospital Inpatient Waste Identification Tool. Hospital Inpatient Waste Identification Tool was %31 in the preliminary study and %38,6 in the main study. In the 7-Waste method, the overall waste rate is %36,3. The most wasted service is infectious diseases service with %53,6. The highest rate of waste is human potential with %47,1. The minimum rate of waste is %9.3 with extra stock.Based on these two models, a more comprehensive Hospital Inpatient Waste Identification Tool model was created. The new model includes all types of waste in both models and the types of waste not included in both models. Thus, a more detailed measurement method has been developed for all wastes in hospitals.
